Forsyth County Government will hold community meetings on the proposed Multi-Use Event Center at Tanglewood Park on July 28 and August 4. Masks will be required at both meetings, due to the size of the expected crowd and the rise in COVID cases, and residents will have the opportunity to watch and participate in the August 4 meeting virtually.
The Forsyth County Department of Public Health will offer COVID vaccinations at Solutions for Independence, Compare Foods, St. John CME Church and the health department.
Forsyth County Government will hold its next virtual meeting on how local organizations can apply for American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds on July 28 at 2 p.m.
The 2021 Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) is $237,492, which will be shared equally between the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office and Winston Salem Police Department.
The Forsyth County Department of Public Health will begin offering $25 Summer Cards on July 20 to anyone 18 and older who receives their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine or who drives someone to receive their first dose. This will include vaccinations at the Public Health Department and at Rupert Bell Park next Saturday, July 24.
